Is from the Jorge Newbury airport (BA) to Ushuaia.
We expected to have one stop on the way, however a second stop for refueling was announced.
The direct flying time is about 2 hours, this flight took more than 6 hours. We were all truly weary on arrival.
Ushuaia is the most southerly town on our earth. I was quite surprised it was not as barren as i was expecting.
Two of our expedition had personal belongings stolen in the BA Airport.
One person had her hand baggage stolen as she was at the counter paying her airport taxes. The bag was on the floor right next to her, apparently those next inline watched a man walk by, pick her bag and walk away with it.
The second person had her wallet with all her cash and credit cards etc. stolen.

Those of us who only got to pay extra for our overweight luggage should feel very lucky.

This is the ship I will be spending one month living on during...

This is the ship I will be spending one month living on during the expedition to Antarctica.

I’m sharing a cabin with Ruth another British Photographer.

Polar Star

Polar Star:
In case I didn’t mention it before, this is the expedition that I am going on.

Finally done packing:

Main bag: 51.3lbs
Camera backpack: 24.1lbs
Lens Case(200-400mm): 11.4lbs
Tripod & Head: 6.0lbs
Second Bag: 21.3lbs

Not exactly light but that is why they call in an expedition.

The essential dry bag for wet beach landings weighs in at 4lbs, but it does come with built in shoulder straps.

Packing for the Antarctica Expedition!

Oh no, last min packing.
